Naseby 1645 – Road Closures & Traffic Management

SUNDAY, 16TH FEBRUARY 2025

In order to maintain safety for our runners at this event, the following road closures and traffic management measures will be in place on race day.

RACE START TIME: 09:00
CUT OFF TIME: 13:00

The Route

Starting from Naseby Village Hall, the route passes the following Battle of Naseby 1645 memorials and viewpoints: Obelisk Monument, Fairfax’s Viewpoint, Rupert’s Viewpoint, ROC Viewpoint, Moot Hill Viewpoint, Retreat Viewpoint, and the Cromwell Monument, before returning to Naseby Village Hall.

Road Closures

The following roads will be closed at the times stated. Diversions will be in place during these times.

• 08:50-09:05 Haselbech Road (Naseby) (at point A on map above, for race start)
• 08:45-09:15 Junction of Newlands & Clipston Road to junction of Unnamed Road at Fairfax’s View (Naseby) (from A to B on map above)
• 09:30-12:30 From bottom of Dick’s Hill/Sibbertoft Road junction to 30mph sign, near Church Street (Sibbertoft) (from N to Q on map above)
• 10:00-13:00 Naseby Road, from the junction with Longhold Road to the junction with Welford Road (Naseby) (from R to S on map above)

One-Way Road

The following road will be closed one way at that time stated.

• Road from Fairfax’s View to Sibbertoft/Kelmarsh Road – road closed one way from monument end 08:45-10:00 (from C to B on map above)

Temporary Speed Restrictions: 60mph to 40mph

The following temporary speed restrictions will be in place for the duration of the race (09:00-13:00).

• Kelmarsh Road to Clipston (from C to E on map above)
• Harborough Road from Clipston to East Farndon (from H to I on map above)
• Marston Lane/Farndon Road (from L to M) Sibbertoft Road, from the junction with Farndon Road to the junction with Dick’s Hill (from M to N on map above)
• Sibbertoft village green to the junction on Longhold Road with Naseby Road (from Q to R on map above)

Stop-Go Operations

Stop-Go operations will be in place at the following locations at the times stated.

• Kelmarsh to Sibbertoft Road at the junction with Kelmarsh Road (to Clipston) (at D on map above)
• Naseby Road/Longhold Road (Sibbertoft) at the junction with Naseby Road (at R on map above)
• Junction of Newlands, Clipston Road and Haselbech Road (Naseby) – at race finish (at A on map above)

No Right Turn

There will be ‘No Right Turn’ at the following locations.

• Junction of the Unnamed Road at Fairfax’s View with Clipston Road; No Right Turn towards Clipston – 8:45 -9:15 (at B on map above)
• Junction of Kelmarsh Road (from Clipston) with Longhold Road; No Right Turn towards Sibbertoft – 10:00-12:30 (at D on map above)

Local Residents

Leaflets outlining the measures above will be delivered to all residents along the route during January.
